Context-aware travel planning & real-time trip companion

Atlas is an AI-powered travel assistant that streamlines trip planning and real-time navigation, while enabling users to share live trip progress with friends and family.

I led the end-to-end design of the MVP across mobile, defining core product flows, interaction patterns, and visual direction — including adaptive UI themes (day/night) and AI-driven interactions.
Results & Impact
The Problem
Travel today is fragmented and reactive:

  • Users switch between multiple apps (maps, bookings, chats)
  • Trip information is scattered and hard to access in context
  • Existing tools lack real-time awareness of user state (location, time, journey stage)
  • Planning and in-trip experience are disconnected
My Role

  • End-to-end product design (0→1 MVP)
  • UX architecture & flow definition
  • Interaction design (AI + real-time systems)
  • Visual direction & adaptive UI system
Impact

  • Reduction in steps to access trip information
  • Faster access to key travel actions
  • Less cognitive load through adaptive UI system
  • Unified 5+ tools into 1 interface
Key Experience Areas
Designing a context-aware AI travel assistant for seamless, real-time journeys
Core Product Loop
  • Plan trips through simple inputs or AI prompts
  • Track journeys in real time (flights, routes, timing)
  • Assist via voice/text AI interaction
  • Adjust dynamically based on context
👉 Creates a more human, less static experience

Core Flows

1. Onboarding: Capture travel intent
  • Collect preferences & upcoming trips
  • Prepare AI context from day one
👉 Reduced friction + faster activation

2. Home: Command Center
  • Quick actions (plan, ask, navigate)
  • Contextual cards (time, location, next step)
👉 Single source of truth

3. AI Interaction: Natural language queries
  • Real-time travel assistance
  • Context-aware responses
👉 Replaces multiple tools with one interface

4. Trip Tracking: Live journey updates
  • Timeline-based UI
  • Status, gates, timing, delays
👉 Real-time clarity, reduced anxiety

5. People / Coordination: Share trip details
  • Coordinate with others
  • Track group travel
👉 Adds collaborative layer
Outcome
Atlas demonstrates how AI + context-aware design can transform travel from fragmented and reactive into a continuous, intelligent experience.
